The Off Grid Treehouse is our tallest structure, standing at a towering 30 feet, with a bottom floor kitchen, bathroom and screened in porch, middle floor bedroom, and top floor roof deck which offers miles of amazing hill country views. This eco-friendly and sustainable structure sits atop 37 acres with access to a half mile trail that winds through the property. Antique shops, breweries, & restaurants and local swim spots are just 6 miles away. Unplug & experience “camp” life AND local attractions all within an hour!
Designed and built by Marlena and her husband, Eugene, this sustainably built treehouse with a bedroom balcony, rooftop deck, and screened in back porch has plenty of space to roam or stay indoors and enjoy the views from the screened windows.

The Treehouse is located on the very top of our hill, on the edge of our retreat center and is not far from other structures on our property like the outdoor group kitchen, the campsite, the bath house, and the workshop. There are privacy fences to keep you separate, if desired, but please note that sound does travel here.

SLEEPING:
Inside, you’ll find a plush queen size bed with linens and pillows provided. The treehouse has a ceiling fan above the bed and on colder nights, you can light the wood stove with our provided wood so you can stay warm and cozy.

CELL SERVICE/ WIFI:
There is strong cell service here with most providers. We haven’t had any guests mention losing service. There is no WIFI in the Treehouse.

COOKING:
The kitchen includes a medium sized fridge (4.56 Cu. Ft. fridge with 2.96 Cu. Ft. bottom freezer), sink, an oven/stove, a dining table + 2 chairs, and amenities like French Press coffee and teas. It's stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, salt, pepper, and cooking oil. Outside, you’ll find a propane grill for outdoor cooking. We have a backyard chiminea for you to use, also. You must bring your own wood for the fire pit.

BATHROOM:
Our water is collected in rain barrels, filtered, and used for showering, cooking, and drinking. Please conserve water. The full sized shower includes hot water, soap+shampoo+conditioner, towels and washcloths. The toilet is a traditional toilet on a septic system.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY:
The sunroom and rooftop viewing area are perfect places to watch the sunset or sunrise over the distant hills. Start a camp-fire in the chiminea and lounge the evening away in the hammocks. Hike the trail loop and watch out for deer, jackrabbits, armadillos, and more!
Outside Fire: We do not provide wood for the fire pit but we do provide it for your indoor wood-stove during winter. Local gas stations on your way into Blanco have bundles of firewood for sale.

DOGS:
Dogs are not allowed at this listing; however if you must bring your pooch, check out our other Airstream listing where they are very much welcome!

CRITTERS, BUGS, HUNTING:
This is Texas, so you may come across fire ants, scorpions, snakes, and other bugs and critters during your stay so bring appropriate shoes and stay aware of where you walk. You may also hear hunting activity from our neighbors during hunting season but it happens sporadically and doesn’t last long.

SURROUNDING AREAS:
15-20 minutes to the Blanco town square is where you’ll find local favorites like Oro Bianco: Texas' first and only water buffalo dairy and creamery with amazing coffee and gelato. You’ll also find a brewery, antique shops and local restaurants. For a day of wineries, drive 30 miles to Fredericksburg, or hike at Enchanted Rock. Take a swim at Hamilton Pool or Pedernales Falls State Park as you drive into Austin or San Antonio for dinner or a live show.
