Flipping The Cabin
Get clean sheets/4 pillowcases/waffle blanket/2 towels/2 washcloths from laundry room to take with you. You’ll have to go back to get more supplies most likely but occasionally you won’t.
First, open the windows and turn fans on if it smells like food. Also burn some incense. Strip sheets and waffle blanket off bed and put in pile with any used towels/rags/bathmats etc. Go ahead and put fresh sheets/waffle blanket on the bed. The top comforter can be washed every few guests.
Straighten anything up like pillow on the couch, notebook/manual on desk, any books or games under desk that look out of place.
Get paper towels and spray bottle from under kitchen sink and clean shower glass if they showered. You’ll be able to see water spots if it needs cleaning. This is one of the most annoying parts of the flip but must be done. Clean shower floor with granite cleaner (under sink) and scrub brush (under sink). Get Clorox wipes and wipe down bathroom sink and toilet. Use toilet cleaner and scrub brush to clean toilet. Empty bathroom trash and replace with fresh bag (under sink). If any of the toiletry bottles are less than half, take to laundry room and refill and don’t forget to bring back to cabin.
Clean kitchen. Check that any ‘washed’ dishes are actually washed well. Put dishes away. Wipe counters and stovetop and kitchen table. Wipe down fridge and remove any items left behind and check freezer for left items. Place new green sponge behind faucet. Clean sliding glass door glass if needed. Dust off crumbs and then use wipe to wipe down kitchen rugs if needed.
Vacuum living room everywhere, bathroom, rug, and kitchen.
Refill firewood and clean out woodstove if needed.
Take note of if you need to bring back anything: toilet paper (always want a roll on the spool and 2 under the sink), paper towels, coffee, creamers, sugar, cooking oil, kitchen rags, more towels, washcloths, etc.
Close windows and turn on heat/ac if needed.
